
Andrew N. Kleit is a Professor of Energy and Environmental Economics at Penn State University. His research focuses on energy and natural resource issues. Professor Kleit is the creator and the original director of Penn State’s innovation program in Energy Business and Finance. He is the author of over 70 articles and the author or editor of five books on antitrust and regulatory issues. His books include Electricity Restructuring: The Texas Story (American Enterprise Institute, 2009), Modern Energy Market Manipulation (Emerald, 2018) and Electricity Capacity Markets (Cambridge, Forthcoming). Professor Kleit also has substantial government experience, having worked for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, as well as the Canadian Competition Bureau. He has testified in a variety of civil and regulatory proceedings at both the state and federal levels. Professor Kleit holds a Ph.D, in economics from Yale University and a B.A. in mathematics and political science from Middlebury College.
