Autoridad Portuaria de Manta v. Terminales Internacionaes de Ecuador S.A, IIHC, Hutchinson Port Holding Limited, Case No. 091-13


The Government of Ecuador held a concession in the Port of Manta in 2007 to Terminales Internaciones del Ecuador SA (“TIDE”). TIDE decided to leave the terminal Hutchison in 2009 leading to an international arbitration complaint regarding a port PPP transaction in the matter of Manta Port Authority v. Terminales Internaciones del Ecuador SA, IIHC Limited (now Hutchison POrt Investments LTD) & Hutchison Port Holdings Limited, Case No. 091-13n. Dr. Paul Kent was retained by council representing the port operator and provided an expert witness report followed by testimony in 2015.
