Jane Kidd is an economist and an expert in the economics of petroleum, natural gas and electric power markets. Ms. Kidd has served as an economic expert in federal and state courts and arbitral proceedings.

Her expertise includes:

• Market pricing and economic valuation
• Competitive analysis, evaluation of competitive effects of proposed mergers and acquisitions, and the economic impact of regulation.

Ms. Kidd has been retained by corporate clients, legal counsel, and government agencies to provide economic analyses, guidance, and testimony in a wide variety of energy engagements. Her experience spans nearly every segment of the oil and gas industry─from exploration and production to refining, processing, transportation, marketing, and distribution─as well as related petrochemical, technology, and maritime service sectors. Her clients include crude oil and natural gas producers, national oil companies, midstream operators, refiners, LNG manufacturers, pipelines, utilities, and local distribution companies. She also has been engaged by several state agencies in oil and gas matters, including the States of Alabama, Alaska, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and New York.

Much of Ms. Kidd’s work has involved crude oil and natural gas valuation issues. She has been retained as an economic expert in numerous private, class and qui tam royalty disputes involving natural gas produced from private, state, federal and tribal lands. The disputes involved claims of underpayment pertaining to proceeds and market value lease royalty provisions, deductions, affiliated transactions, and/or NGL processing. Her analyses in such disputes have included netback calculations, comparable sales and costs, cost of service, the value of NGL “uplift,” and calculation of royalty obligations on class-wide bases.

Ms. Kidd also has experience navigating economic issues involving electric power and renewable energies. She has advised pipelines and electric utilities about strategic initiatives pertaining to cost of service, rate design, and regulatory restructuring.

Ms. Kidd served as president of the International Association for Energy Economics Houston Chapter.
