Jonathan Schwartz is a Vice President at Monument Economics Group. Mr. Schwartz has 19 years of experience working as an applied economist in economic consulting firms. Prior to joining Monument, Mr. Schwartz was most recently a Senior Vice President in the litigation and expert services department of Nathan Associates.
Mr. Schwartz’s work has covered a broad range of matters including antitrust, finance, intellectual property, international arbitration, and contract disputes. Mr. Schwartz has performed analysis related to antitrust liability, damages, class certification, settlement allocation, overcharge pass through, reasonable royalties, lost profits, business valuation and actuarially fair dividend payments. He has experience in many different industries including airlines, agricultural products, chemicals, credit cards, entertainment, nutritional supplements, computer hardware, electronic components, consumer products, and construction materials.
Mr. Schwartz has provided written or deposition testimony on a variety of subjects including class certification, damages and settlement allocations. Mr. Schwartz designed a methodology for distributing more than $200 million in indirect purchaser settlements for In Re: DRAM Antitrust Litigation that the Special Master described as fair, reasonable and adequate. His methodology also served as the basis for the proposed distribution of claims that was approved by the Supreme Court of British Columbia. He also submitted a declaration for In Re: Transpacific Passenger Air Transportation Antitrust Litigation which the Court relied on in its denial of defendants’ motion for summary judgment.
